Lecture Presentation on Post-WTO Accession Issues

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Da Nang branch, on December 7, 2006, organised a lecture presentation themed ‘Post-WTO Accession – Opportunity and Challenge’ with the participation of representatives from more than 100 enterprises in Central Vietnam. Attending the event was Ambassador Ngo Quang Xuan, head of the Vietnamese delegation to the United Nations and international organisations in Geneva, Switzerland.

 

The participants heard brief introduction about the negotiations on Vietnam’s accession to WTO, multilateral and bilateral commitments on goods, market and services, and the impacts of the country’s accession to WTO on local enterprises, opportunities and challenges of the Vietnamese economy and enterprises.

 

Experts said Vietnamese enterprises should improve the competitiveness of their goods and products. Also, the State should promote their support for small and medium-sized enterprises in terms of procedures, costs and warehouses.
