"Adding Value to Agricultural Products in the GMS" Conference to Open

Greater Mekong Subregion Business Forum (GMS-BF) Secretariat in collaboration with Thai Chamber of Commerce and other five GMS National Chambers of Commerce and Industry are organizing the “Adding Value to Agricultural Products in the GMS” Conference and Business Matching Session in Bangkok on March 1st and 2nd, 2007.

The conference will provide a platform for a dynamic exchange of best practice options and permit participants –SHOULD THEY CHOOSE – to brainstorm and exchange views about concrete proposals to encourage the improvement and development of agricultural products in the GMS.
 
Strong emphasis in this conference will be placed on development, and maximization of already existing investments, product processing, creation of added value products, value chain and distribution, policies and strategies, financing agriculture, outputs for niche markets and development of export market niches.
 
Among the firms/organizations who are being invited to participate in above mentioned conferences are United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN FAO), GMS Government Ministry Official and Foreign Direct Investors, Chamber of Commerce and Industries, GMS Countries (YPCC, CCC, LNCCI, TCC, UMCCI, VCCI).
 
The Business Matching Session will be a unique occasion to interact and meet corporate involved in the different sectors of the agricultural and food industries.
