CPI Down 0.22 per cent on Month

The consumer price index in Mar 2007 dropped slightly by 0.22 per cent on month, the General Statistics Office Mar 22 showed.
 
However, CPI in Mar increased by 6.8 per cent on year and surged by 3.02 per cent compared with end-2006, it said.
 
Among consumer goods baskets, transport and post sector showed the highest growth, followed by pharmaceuticals and medicines, in terms of on-month rise.
 
Meanwhile, gold soared by 2.59 per cent and US dollar lost 0.1 per cent on month.
