Fruit Export Price to China Rockets
Prices of many kinds of Vietnamese fruit, exported to China via Mong Cai border gate, have soared by 20 per cent compared with prices early last year, according to the Ministry of Trade.
However, export volume remains low because some fruits are not yet harvested.
The ministry said local traders exported around 200 tons of fruit to China per week, forecasting that both export volume and price will rocket this month as Chinese people need more tropical fruits in coming summer season.
Vietnam ships mainly Hoa Loc sweet mango, dragon fruit, longan, durian, custard-apple and rambutan, which grow better in the south, to China.
