US$500Mln of Contracts Inked at Vietnam Expo 2007

A total value of deals signed between Vietnam and foreign partners during Vietnam Expo 2007 from April 4-8 reached US$500 million, said the Trade Promotion Department.
 
Of sum, 80 per cent or US$400 million came from deals between enterprises from China's Yunnan province and Vietnamese ones, and the rest was contracts involving agricultural, garment and textile products.
 
Apart from signing import-export deals, around 20 foreign business delegations organized discussions with Vietnamese enterprises to seek further cooperation.
 
More than 500 local and foreign businesses attended the 17th Vietnam International Trade Fair, Vietnam Expo 2007.
 
The event displayed agricultural products, foodstuff, wooden furniture, handicraft items, electric/electronic/IT products, industrial machines and equipment, construction materials, fashion products, garments, as well as products of the service industry and other sectors, at 700 standardized pavilions covering 20,000 square meters.
