Nine Export Deals Valued US$100Mln

Nine export contracts and a memorandum of understanding were signed between 10 Vietnamese companies and foreign partners on April 5 at the 17th Vietnam International Trade Fair, Expo 2007, which took place from April 4-8 at the Vietnam Trade Fair Centre, Giang Vo Street, Hanoi.
Most contracts are related to farm produces, foodstuff and apparels.

Notably, Viet Tien Garment Corp. signed US$40 million contract, the largest of the nine, with Prominent Eurpo Ltd and Itochu Prominent USA. Exports are shirts and trousers for the US market.

Que Huong Green Pea Cake Joint Stock Company signed US$20 million deal with Yulong Co. of China to export green pea cakes to China in four years. Besides, Vietnam Tea Corp. (Vinatea), Hanoi Trade Corp. (Hapro) and Hanoi Pharmaceuticals and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company also won export contracts with Singaporean and Pakistani partners.

In addition to nine export deals, a memorandum of understanding between Vietnam Software Association and An San City Software Centre of South Korea was inked, laying a ground for cooperation, support and exchange of experience between Vietnam and South Korea in information and communication technology.

To date, contracts signed at Expo 2007 have value of up to US$500 million, especially those with companies in Yunnan Province, China.
