New Opportunities for Apparel Sector

On April 4-7, 2007, at International Exhibition and Fair Centre, Ho Chi Minh City and on April 17-19, 2007 at Giang Vo Exhibition Centre, Hanoi, “International Apparel Equipment and Materials Exhibition” will be organised by Vietnam Apparel Group (Vinatext) and VietchamExpo VCCI under the sponsorship of Industry Ministry and Vietnam Textile Association.

Modern equipment, parts and materials will be on display. According to Mr Le Quoc An, Chairman of Vinatex and President of Vietnam Textile Association, it will be the biggest annual exhibition of this kind ever organised in Vietnam.  

The 17th exhibition of 2007 will attract over 370 companies and groups from 25 countries exhibition area of 5,000 sq. metres in Ho Chi Minh City and over 4,000 sq. metres in Hanoi.

The Organising Committee believed that WTO membership and the expansion of Vietnamese export market will boost the participation of local and foreign businesses in both North and South Vietnam. Concerned businesses have highly evaluated equipment and materials markets in Vietnam.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the exhibition has attracted many leading equipment manufacturing companies of the world. It is also noteworthy that this year, many Vietnamese companies and foreign joint ventures participate in the exhibition.

According to Mr Bui Xuan Khu, Vice Minister of Industry :”The exhibition is to facilitate Vietnamese companies of all economic sectors to purchase new and modern equipment and materials of industrialised countries so as to develop further Vietnamese apparel sector. In particular, it will help increase import-substitute materials and ensure the supply of new materials meeting the demand of foreign customers, developing Vietnamese apparel industry and integrating further into the region and the world.”
The Organising Committee expects the 17th exhibition will attract over 10,000 local and foreign visitors and partners.
