VCCI, FPT Cooperate to Assist Businesswomen, SMEs
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT) signed a cooperation deal April 17 organizing e-commerce training programs for businesswomen and application programs for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The projected programs target Vietnamese businesswomen and SMEs that are leading informatics firms, assisting SMEs to enhance their business competence and boosting the application of information technology in production and business.
The programs will be organized in 2007 in many provinces and big cities in Vietnam.
The role of Vietnamese women is affirmed more and more as they are getting involved in various fields, particularly taking over important positions in companies. More than 20 per cent of Vietnamese companies are now led by women.
Vietnam now has 270,000 SMEs with total investment of nearly $30 billion, making up 96 per cent of total enterprises in the country, generating 2.6 million jobs for local people and contributing nearly 40 per cent of the national GDP. (Labor, the People)
