The seminar on “Improving Service Quality Management in Telecommunication Industry” was opened at Melia Hanoi Hotel in Hanoi City on April 24, aiming to provide telecom managers with a clearer and more comprehensive look of the infrastructure and next generation services - from the angle of service network to clients and business partners.

The seminar was attended by representatives from nearly all major telecom companies in Vietnam. Attendants presented difficulties that telecom companies were encountering as well as worries of the effectiveness of the software applications to the information technology system.

At the event, IBM, for the first time since its presence in Vietnam, introduced its leading software solutions like renowned IBM Tivoli Netcool and Vallent to the telecom industry. These products have been used worldwide by leading providers of telecom, wireless, internet and other communication service segments, helping them better manage technology infrastructure, provide a unified background and maintain continuity in business operations.

After the acquisitions of world-leading brands like Lotus and Tivoli in the 1990s, IBM Software of the IBM Group has bought 36 software companies since 2001 to diversify its software products for worldwide customers.

According to Mr Raoul Raos, CEO of Alcatel-Lucent in Vietnam, the relationship with IBM is a global cooperation on the basis of mutual benefits. The IBM cooperation enables Alcatel-Lucent to provide better equipment and services for its customers in Vietnam. To IBM, Alcatel-Lucent is its largest partner in the global telecom industry and the good cooperation with Alcatel-Lucent in Vietnam allows IBM to better approach the market and customers.
