Vietnam's Budget Collection up 13.7 per cent in First Half
Vietnam collected a total of VND129.985 trillion (US$8.12 billion) for the state budget in the first half of the year, up 13.7 per cent on year and meeting 46.1 per cent, the full year target, a government report said Thursday.
The state budget collection was estimated to have accounted for 26.3 per cent of the country’s GDP, said the report, which was submitted to the National Assembly meeting in Hanoi.
It said the state spending in the first six months was higher, at VND163.71 trillion, up 17.6 per cent on year and accounting for 45.8 per cent of the full-year target.
Of the total state earnings, the General Department of Taxation said it collected VND100.480 trillion (US$6.28 billion) in the first six months of this year, up 23.3 per cent on year, including VND27.65 trillion from the oil and gas industry.
The government said it spent VND42.3 trillion in the state investment projects between January and June, down nearly 50 per cent on year, because of slow disbursements caused by bureaucracy among state organizations.
