Vietnam to Grant E-C/O for Exports

Vietnamese Ministry of Trade (MoT) has recently issued a regulation on the grant of E-certificates of origin (E-C/O) in a bid to boost local exports to narrow trade deficit this year, a ministry source said on August 1.
 
The regulation will subject to exporters in Vietnam and C/O issuance organizations under the MoT.
 
Accordingly, relevant agencies are responsible for carefully check C/O registration documents collected via Internet, and grant certificates to suitable and appropriate ones.
 
C/O-issuing agencies will publicly update results on the MoT’s E-C/O management and issuance systems (eCoSys) and the national E-commerce portal (ECVN).
 
In order to get E-C/O, exporters must fulfill obligatory requirements relating to prestige and technique.
 
In term of prestige, exporters must be free from violations on C/O, be selected as prestigious exporters by the MoT, considered ECVN gold or silver memberships, and be guaranteed and introduced by associations of industries.
 
Apparel and footwear exporting firms must have export revenues of over $30 million per years in recent three years
 
Regarding technical edge, exporters must have good information and technology infrastructure, especially system security integrated to MOT-CA system by the MoT. (Youth, VietnamNet)
