Vietnam, Singapore to Further Boost Tourism Ties
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the National Association of Travel Agents of Singapore (NATAS) signed a cooperative pact early this month, hoping to boost bilateral tourism ties.
The signing agreement was held during the five-day visit to Vietnam of the Singapore tourism delegation.
Accordingly, the two sides will join hands in tourism promotion, and human resource training.
“Vietnam is a potential market, boasting lots of natural beautiful landscapes and world heritage sites,” a NATAS official said, revealing that many Singaporean travel firms will arrive in Vietnam to seek cooperation.
Vietnam and Singapore have seen some fruitful achievements in tourism over the past years. Singaporean tourists to Vietnam and vice versa are increasing in numbers. Notably, the number of Singaporean arrivals to Vietnam in the first seven months of this year was up 29.3 per cent against last year.
Currently, Singapore takes the top spot in the number of tourism projects in Vietnam with more than 20 projects valued at over US$1.3 billion, followed by Taiwan with 15 projects worth US$784 million and Hong Kong with 41 projects worth US$642 million. (Young People)
