Vietnam Co. Halves Apatite Export Volume This Year
State-owned Apatite Vietnam Company said it will halve its export volume of apatite ore to 70,000 tons in 2008.
Apatite Vietnam Co noted that it may halt shipments in the near future to ensure supply for local fertilizer factories, the Industrial Magazine said.
Apatite Vietnam Co. was reported to sell abroad 140,000 tons of apatite ore in 2007, presenting 200 per cent its yearly target with the price of VND641,000 a ton, twice as much as that sold to domestic buyers.
The company obtained US$5.5 million from export last year. (Industrial Magazine)
