Vietnam Bay Returns to World Wonders Poll
NewOpenWorld, the organizer of the online poll, lifted the removal after Vietnamese websites which had illegally used new7wonders’ logo, photos and contents from the NewOpenWorld website stopped their violations
The Bay is topping the list as it did before, the newspaper also said.
Ha Long Bay is the only nominee of Vietnam on the list after Fansipan Mountain and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park were crossed off.
The voting is currently in its second phase of the four phase bid, in which website voters will be asked to provide their private e-mail addresses and finish a list of seven of the nominated sites as natural wonders of the world.
Twenty-one sites out of a short-list of 77 nominees, that will be announced in January 2009, will be selected by a board of advisors from the New Open World Organization in the third phase.
The last phase will be done in the form of a global vote scheduled from 2009 to 2010.
The organization plans to release the final result in the summer of 2010. (Labor, Vietnam Economic Times)
