300,000 LCDs to be Sold Out in Vietnam This Year

Vietnamese consumers will buy up to 300,000 liquid crystal displays (LCD) this year, tripling last year’s figure, the Tuoi Tre newspaper reported, citing Tran Van Khoa, director of Vietnam GfK Market Research Company.
 
Last year, some 100,000 LCDs were sold in the Vietnamese market, Khoa said.
 
Earlier Khoa forecast that revenues of 2008 Vietnam digital products could reach US$3.9 billion, up 25 per cent against 2007.
 
In the first four months this year, Vietnam shipped US$808 million worth of electronics and computer parts exports, a rise of 33.9 per cent on-year. The figure is expected to hit US$3.5 billion this year, up 59.1 per cent on-year. (Youth, GSO April 2008)
