A caravan tour across four South East Asian countries, including Vietnam has just been launched for adventure seekers by Malaysia’s Viking Travel and Genting International Company, state media said.
The trip which lasts 12 days will start in Vietnam and then cross into Thailand, Cambodia and finish in the Genting highlands, the most popular travel destination in Malaysia.
The participants will travel more than 5,000 km and have the chance to visit famous tourist attractions, including Battambang and Siem Reap in Cambodia; Poi Pet town on the border of Thailand and Cambodia; HuaHin, Hat Yai and Phuket in Thailand.
The launching is said to be efforts of the Asian countries to boost tourism cooperation.
Recent survey results indicated that Vietnam is becoming a more appealing destination for Asians and Europeans.
East Asia remained the largest international market segment for Vietnam’s tourism and hospitality industry, accounting for 38 per cent of total international arrivals. (Saigon Liberation, VietNamNet June 1)
