US$45 Mln Tourism Project Kicked off in Southern Vietnam
Rung Duong Ltd. Co. has started construction on a US$45-million tourism project in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the Investment newspaper reported May 30.
The Rung Duong Resort-Laguna Beach project, built on a 7.5-hectare site in Phuoc Tinh commune, Long Dien district, will accommodate 37 villas and a seven-storey hotel of 100 rooms.
This is the first five-star tourism project in Long Dien, which has great potentials for tourism development but these have not yet been fully tapped.
With a coastline of around 26 kilometers and many beautiful beaches, Long Dien is an attractive destination for visitors. Long Hai Beach welcomes some 300,000 tourists each year. The district is home to six hotels any many landscapes.
Ba Ria-Vung Tau currently has 90 hotels and tourism sites, up 20 per cent compared with 2001.
The province hopes to welcome 7.6 million visitors and earn tourism revenues of VND1.76 trillion (US$110 million) in 2010. (Investment)
