Vietnam Sees US$ 1.6 Bln in Rubber Exportsin 2008

Vietnam is expected to rake in US$1.6 billion from rubber exports in 2008, keeping its position as the fourth rubber exporter in the world, local media reported.
 
The figure is up from US$1.4 billion in 2007, and surpassing the country’s initial target at US$1.45 billion, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
 
The ministry said export prices of Vietnamese rubber to China via Mong Cai border gate are rebounding after three weeks of decrease.
 
A ton of rubber is now selling fro CNY7,800 (US$1,142) a ton, up by CNY500 a ton from a week earlier.
 
Vietnam is expected to ship 900,000 tons of rubber in 2010, with total revenue of US$2 billion, an year on year rise of 13.4 per cent, the ministry said. (Vietnam Agriculture)
