MPI: Vietnam Invests Up To 39 per cent of GDP Value in 2008

The Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment has said that Vietnam has invested up to VND580 trillion (US$35.151 billion), or up to 39 per cent of its GDP value this year, slightly down 10 per cent on year.
 
Of the total fund, investments sourced from state coffer are estimated at VND118 trillion, up 5.4 per cent on year, state-invested projects hit VND40 trillion, fulfilling the year's target, state-owned enterprises invested up to VND65 trillion, up 8.3 per cent from a year ago, the Ministry of Planning and Investment said.
 
Private-and foreign-invested firms have invested up to VND180 trillion and VND143 trillion, respectively, MPI added.
 
Vietnam's GDP growth rate has eased at 6.23 per cent this year, down from 8.5 per cent in 2007. (www.chinhphu.vn)
