UN Global Compact Seminar: "Communicating CSR initiatives, National and international perspectives" to Open
VCCI and UNDP will co-organize the UN Global Compact Seminar entitled “Communicating CSR initiatives, National and international perspectives” on April 1 at Sofitel Plaza, Hanoi.
The seminar is to provide the participants with practical examples to identify opportunities for new strategies and exchange experiences, addressed by Prof. Dr. Miriam Meckel, internationally renowned for her work on Corporate Communication, Media and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Prof. Dr. Meckel is currently the Director of the Institute for Media and Communication Management at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. She is a former State Secretary at the department of the Premier of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia and government spokeswoman. She was also State Secretary for Europe, International Affairs and Media.
In addition, two outstanding companies will contribute to the seminar with their precious experiences on CSR communication.
The UN Global Compact (GC) initiative was established in 1999, and has become one of the major frameworks to promote Corporate Social Responsibility in the world: more than 5,200 participants in 120 countries are involved, including trade unions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and over 4,000 businesses.
Vietnam launched the national Global Compact network (GC Local Viet Nam Network) in 2007. VCCI, the focal point for the GCLN Vietnam, is currently working in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to promote the GC principles in Vietnam.
