VCCI, GDC Join Hands in IT Application Assistance for Businesses
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the General Department of Customs (GDC) have recently signed an agreement on cooperation in a programme to assist businesses to apply IT application to make customs procedures easier.
This programme is part of the national project called “supporting enterprises to apply IT to serve integration and development in the 2006-2010 period” carried out by the VCCI under the assignment of the Government. This is also one of the e-government contents implemented to provide easier administrative services for the people and businesses and enhance the governance capability and efficiency of the Vietnamese Government.
This programme is aimed to promote and widen cooperation results in 2008, like opening workshops and training courses on e-customs procedures for Vietnamese enterprises, introducing assistance programmes of the GDC and VCCI to enterprises to support businesses in general and exporters in particular. In 2009, the two organs plan to organise seminars and dialogues with enterprises in many provinces and cities to raise awareness of the business community in applying IT to ease customs procedures, open training courses on e-customs process and the Law on Customs for enterprises, and share and exchange information on concerned issues.
Annually, GDC and VCCI will propose specific actions and inform them to attending enterprises.
