Ba Na Cable Car System, which wins two world records, was officially inaugurated in central Danang city on March 25.

The Guinness World Records has granted two world records to the Ba Na Cable Car System in the central city of Danang – the longest single-string cable car system at the launching ceremony with participation of President Nguyen Minh Triet.

The telpher, with total investment capital of VND300 billion (US$17.6 million), was built to meet European standards with Austrian technology and equipment imported from Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden.

The cable car system has 24 pillars, 94 cabins, and can serve 1,500 visitors per hour. It has a total length of over 5,042 meters and a height of more than 1,291 meters.

It takes visitors several minutes to go from the foot of Ba Na Mountain to the Ba Na ecological tourism site, at 1,487 meters above sea level. This tourist site experiences four seasons intra-day, and has an abundant fauna and floral system.

On April 30, the Ba Na Cable Car Service Company will put into operation another system that connects the two peaks of Vong Nguyet and Ba Na.

Ba Na, 25 kilometers to the North West of Danang city, is famous for its picturesque forests, splendid waterfalls and moderate climate. (VoV, VNS)
