The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has estimated that Vietnam will disburse US$3 billion in official development assistances (ODA) this year, more than projected at US$2.2 billion.

That sum will include US$350 million of financial support by the World Bank and US$500 million of the Asian Development Bank for overcoming the economic downturn, the MPI was quoted by the Vietnam Investment Review as saying.

In the first half, ODA disbursements rose 9% from a year ago to US$1.27 billion.

International donors have pledged US$20 billion in ODA for Vietnam, which has not been disbursed so far, much higher than the country’s US$8 billion stimulus packages, the MPI added. (VIR)
