EU - ASEAN Cooperation on Standard

The conference on EU - ASEAN Cooperation on Standard was held in Hanoi on September 28 by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the European Commission, EU standard organisations and the Directorate for Standards, Metrology, and Quality under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The event is expected to help Vietnamese enterprises to boost exports to EU markets.

 

At the event, experts provided information about EU standard systems and discussed difficulties for Vietnamese exporters as they crossed technical barriers in EU markets. The workshop also introduced the “EU-China Standards Information Platform” and the application of the platform to address difficulties in seeking information and instructing enterprises to follow standard conformity. They also debated possibilities to expand the scope of application in Vietnam and ASEAN markets.
