Vietnam Tops among Investors in Laos, Cambodia So Far
Vietnam has to date poured US$1.4 billion in Laos and US$600 million in Cambodia, ranking the first among foreign investors in the two neighboring countries.
Most of Vietnamese projects in Laos and Cambodia focus on the areas of industrial sector, mineral processing and production, hydropower construction and the agro-forestry sector.
Vietnam mainly exports garments, shoes, rice, computer and accessories to Laos; meanwhile, it is now Cambodia’s biggest importer of agricultural-forestry products.
The Southeast Asian country expects trade revenues with Laos to hit US$1 billion and US$2 billion with Cambodia next year. (VNA)
