Vietnam Calls on More Spanish Investors: President Triet
Vietnam encouraged Spanish companies to invest in areas of infrastructure, seaport, logistics, warehouse and tourism, Vietnamese President Triet said at a forum held in Barcelona city on December 16.
At the forum held within a President Triet’s official visit to Spain, he committed that Vietnam will offer favorable conditions for the Spanish investors.
During the visit, President Triet also met Catalunya Chairman Jose Montilla and Barcelona Major Jordi Heure and expressed his thanks to the Spanish government.
Spain pledges that it will fund EUR500 million for the construction of metro systems in Ho Chi Minh City during Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet’s visit to the country.
The bilateral trade reached $829 million in the first seven months of this year, up 4.9% from a year ago. Last year the trade was $1.2 billion.
However, Spanish investments in Vietnam remain modest with 14 projects worth $17.3 million to date. (Labor)
