More German Firms to Seek Investment Opportunities in Vietnam: Official
More German companies will seek investment opportunities Vietnam soon, Dirk Niebel minister of German Economic Cooperation and Development said.
Niebel said that Vietnam always an attractive destination; however, it needs build a comprehensive and stable legal framework and cut administrative procedures to attract German investors.
He said the German government always gives incentives and facilitate its businesses to seek investment opportunities in other countries, especially in Vietnam.
German companies have to date poured US$778 million into 140 projects in Vietnam, ranking the 22nd among foreign investors. The projects mainly focus on infrastructure, transport, renewable energy, processing and banking.
At the Consultative Group Meeting held in Hanoi on December 3-4, 2009, Germany pledged EUR137 million in aid for Vietnam in the financial year, accounting for 12.7% of EU’s total aid for the Southeast Asian nation in the year. (Banking Times)
