HCM City Expects to Attract US$8.4B FDI This Year
Ho Chi Minh City expects to attract a total pledged foreign direct investment (FDI) of US$8.4 billion, up over four folds than last year’s figure.
In the year, the city aims to disburse US$1.43 billion in FDI, up 33.14% on-year.
This year, the city will focus on attracting FDI projects in the areas of infrastructure, health, education and hi-tech, the newspaper cited Director of the municipal Investment and Trade Promotion Center Nguyen Minh Thien as saying.
It will boost investment promotion programs in foreign countries, particularly Japan and the U.S., Thien added.
From now to 2015, the city will put into operation seven new industrial parks namely Dong Nam, Phuoc Hiep, Bau Dung, Vinh Loc III, Le Minh Xuan II and III, Xuan Thoi Thuong and Phu Huu.
Currently, 15 industrial parks and export processing zones in Ho Chi Minh City are operational. (Investment)
