Vietnam Ranks 12th among Most Potential Markets for FDI in 2010: A.T. Kearney
Vietnam is ranked the 12th among the most potential markets worldwide for foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction this year, International consulting group A.T. Kearney said in a recent survey on FDI Confidence Index.
The Business Week magazine cited the group that Vietnam stood the 93rd in the ease of doing business ranking whilst Indonesia the 21st, Malaysia the 20th and Singapore the 24th.
China tops the list of territories and countries in the 2010 FDI Confidence Index survey. It has maintained the leading position in the survey since 2002. it is followed by the U.S., India, Brazil, Germany, Poland, Australia, Mexico, Canada and the U.K.
The survey on annual global FDI Confidence Index provides a unique look at the present and future prospects for international investment flows.
In the first two months Vietnam attracted the total pledged FDI of US$1.78 billion, down 72.7% from a year earlier, the Ministry of Planning and Investment said.
This year, it aims to lure in between US$22 billion and US$25 billion in FDI. (Vneconomy.vn)
