DHL to Invest US$ 13 Million in Vietnam by 2015

On May 16, 2013, the global market leader for contract logistics solutions DHL announced it would invest US$13 million to grow its supply chain business in Vietnam by 2015. DHL plans to invest in new facilities, IT solutions including warehousing management system, transport fleet and workforce.
 
With such an investment, DHL Supply Chain Vietnam plans to increase its staff by over 170 percent, creating 1400 new job opportunities. It is expected by 2015 the company will increase its workforce to 2,200 people locally. The investment of DHL also includes an increase of its warehouse space in Vietnam by over 50 percent (from 91,000sq. metres to 141,000sq. metres by 2015), growing the transportation fleet over 160 percent, deploying over 100 vehicles in the next two years, etc.
 
In addition, DHL also announced the building of the second 10,000 sq metre built-to-suit distribution centre in Bac Ninh province will be completed by the third quarter of 2013. The company also expands its office in Hanoi, expands its functions to take responsibility for the whole Northern region of Vietnam.
