Another Golf Course to Open in the North

The Urban Construction and Development Holding Co officially kicked off construction on the Dam Vac golf course and Mau Lam Garden Villa Area on March 6 in Vinh Yen town in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

The two-phase project to construct Dam Vac Golf Course and Mau Lam Garden Villas, which is 20 kilometres from Noi Bai International Airport and 40 kilometres from the centre of Hanoi, will cover a total area of 80.73 hectares. A 22.89-hectare garden villa area and 57.84-hectare golf course will be built in the first phase. The project is capitalized at a total cost of VND400 billion (US$25.47 million).

According to the company’s director Mac Anh Tuan, the project is aimed at pushing up site clearance and infrastructure investment and constructing the golf course between January 2005 and June 2006. In the second phase lasting from June 2006 to December 2007, the project will pour investment into the construction of social works, housing and supporting works, and other services. It is expected that the 18-hole five-star international standard golf course will come on line in the beginning of 2008.

The exceptional impression of the project lies in the harmonious combination of the golf course and the garden villa area. Each garden villa lot possesses its own distinguished architecture style beautifully decorating the street and the whole area.

Covering an area of 200-250 square metres, each villa will have two connecting gardens, one in front and one behind. Next to the garden is the villa area covering 280-320 square metres each and standing near garages. In addition, the project will build a larger-size villa area serving VIP guests.

It is also promises to provide modern public convenience services for golfers by constructing a 6,867-square metre market at the centre, a 1,546-squares-metre nursery school, a 3,695-square-metre medical care and cultural service zone, and a 54,145-square-metre sport and tourism club.

Under the project, these works will be well-designed with moderate 2-3-floor height blending with the natural landscape. After the opening ceremony, many customers have inquired about buying Golf Club Membership Cards.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phi, the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said: "It is among the key projects implemented or to be carried out in the province and is expected to create jobs for thousands of local labourers. Apart from its purpose of boosting business activities, the project is also aimed at setting up a modern new urban area in order to improve the living standards of local people and lure more foreign investment into the province’s tourism and economic sectors."
