VCCI, New Horizons Jointly Support IT Application in Businesses
A cooperation agreement on support of businesses in applying information technology for the 2005-2010 period was signed between the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the New Horizons Asia Pacific group in Hanoi on November 7.
Under the agreement, the two sides will focus on IT training for managers and leaders of businesses, training on IT application in specific areas for officials in charge of direct production and business, training for chief information officers (CIO) of businesses.
The two sides will organize consultancy programs for businesses to select proper IT solutions, and organize training courses on foreign IT application. They will also work together to compile documents and booklets on IT application for businesses.
According to Nguyen Van Thao, Director of the Business IT Institute, VCCI-New Horizons cooperation is highly significant as Vietnam has not yet any organization operating independently in providing IT application consultation for businesses.
Stephen A. Hindle, Director of New Horizons for the Asian-Pacific region, pledged that New Horizons would transfer high-quality IT training programs to Viet Nam.
At the signing ceremony, the two sides announced an action programme for the next year with the first training course for chief information officers - CIO, which is scheduled to open on March 1, 2006.
