US-Vietnam Business Communities Supported for Further Development
Vu Tien Loc Ph.D, President of VCCI, on March 13 worked with Mr.Myron Brilliant, Vice President of the US Department of Commerce, to seek solutions on assisting the two countries’ business communities in cooperation and investment activities.
Many US enterprises are now looking forward to investing in Vietnam, said Myron Brilliant. To better support the two business communities, he hoped VCCI would strongly help US firms invest in Vietnam and proposed that VCCI President and US Department of Commerce President would sign a cooperation agreement to create a strong legal framework to boost the cooperation relation of the two organisations.
Regarding Vietnam’s preparations for APEC Vietnam 2006 and the two events hosted by VCCI on the sidelines of the summit, including APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) and CEO Summit2006, US Department of Commerce announced that it would support Vietnam to organize these events and arrange a delegation of US giant companies to Vietnam to attend.
Mr. Myron Brilliant once again affirmed US’s business community strongly supports Vietnam’s admission to WTO and hoped the two countries would early finish bilateral negotiations to help Vietnam become WTO member before APEC Summit this November.
