First "Photography of Vietnam Today" Competition Ends With Great Success
With the sponsorship of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), the Photo World Magazine and the Centre for Investment Promotion and Enterprise Publishing have held the first “Photography of Vietnam today”.
The competition, financed by Kodak Professional will be carried out all over the country, attracting attention and support from the majority of both professional and amateur photographers, entrepreneurs, and overseas Vietnamese. By the end of the competition, organisers received 4,499 photos of 564 photographers from 51 provinces and cities of the country.
“Merciful arms” of Hoang Quoc Tuan (Ho Chi Minh City) has won the first prize of the topic “Wedding – Family life – Socio culture”; “Farmers’ orbit” of Vu Hi (Vinh Phuc Province) won the first prize of the topic “Business Activities – products”; the first prize for the genre of single photos was “the honour of Vietnamese Culture” of Lai Hien (Hanoi). Besides, organisers have granted prizes to photographer Nguyen Tan Duy (Ho Chi Minh City) for the most number of photos and the youngest photographer for Dao Nguyen Minh Phuong (Ho Chi Minh City – 17 years old). Both professional groups and the majority of participants appreciated the competition, especially in the new gesture of impressive photos fromVietnamese enterprises and entrepreneurs.
The prize giving and opening ceremony of the first “ Photography of Vietnam today” will be organised at the city’s exhibition hall, 92 Le Thanh Ton, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City in April 22nd 2006.
