Improving Roles of Employers in Enterprises

According to Mr. Phung Quang Huy, Chief Bureau for Employers’ Activities (VCCI) at the VCCI’s Ceremony of Five Years of Establishment, labour relations in Vietnam has changed into a new period that will decide Vietnam enterprises’ competitiveness and the economy’s growth ability.

VCCI’s goals are to build up excellent employers because skilful employees alone cannot make up good enterprises. Also, VCCI want to support employers to make good collective working agreements that include better terms than the law of labour. This is to prevent labour disputes over interest – the cause of many strikes.

In coming years, VCCI will cooperate with Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and Vietnam Labour Confederation to consider contributing ideas relating to disputes between employers and employees over rights issue, then complete important laws such as Law of Labour (modified version in chapter 14 on strike), Article of Social Insurance, Article of Minimum Wage, etc.
