Driven by a determination to improve the business environment while boosting competitiveness, Da Nang places strong emphasis on developing its labor market alongside infrastructure expansion and administrative reform. A high-quality workforce combined with an effective employment service system is becoming a major advantage that enhances the city's appeal to investors.

Strengthening connections between businesses and workers

Over the past few years, the Da Nang City Department of Home Affairs has deployed synchronous solutions to connect labor supply and demand, helping businesses recruit while generating sustainable job opportunities for workers.

Job counseling and placement continue to be defined as core duties. In 2025, the Employment Service Center, under the Department of Home Affairs, provided counseling and information on employment, vocational training, labor policies, and unemployment insurance to more than 160,000 people. It placed nearly 8,000 workers into jobs and connected more than 1,250 businesses with nearly 50,000 vacant positions.

The distinguishing feature is the diversification of employment matching activities. Alongside regular job fairs, the center collaborated to host large-scale career days, enabling businesses to access talent pools and helping workers secure matching job opportunities.

A prime example is the collaboration with Dong A University to host the 2026 Job Fair, which attracted 209 businesses offering more than 41,000 vacancies in tourism, logistics, information technology, engineering, and banking and finance. The event drew more than 8,000 students and job-seekers, making it one of the largest employment networking activities in the region.

Rather than concentrating solely on the downtown area, the Employment Service Center brought counseling and job placement activities directly to remote and mountainous communes. This approach enables workers to access recruitment information right in their local communities, reducing travel costs and expanding job-seeking opportunities, particularly for workers who lack specialized skills, need extra support, or want to change careers.

Da Nang is steadily building a skilled workforce that meets development requirements in the new era

Accelerating the digitalization of labor networking

Facing rapid changes in the labor market, Da Nang is accelerating the application of digital technology within its employment services. Websites, online platforms, social media channels, and labor market databases are being utilized effectively to help workers and businesses access information much faster and more conveniently.

The Department of Home Affairs regularly updates corporate recruitment needs, job-seeker demands, and labor mobility trends to serve market forecasting efforts. This provides an important foundation for policymakers in developing appropriate labor policies, while supporting businesses to be proactive in their recruitment plans and human resource development.

In addition, the city strengthened linkages between vocational education institutions and businesses to align training with practical demands. Many local universities, colleges, and intermediate schools cooperated with enterprises to build training curricula, organize internships, and handle post-graduation recruitment, contributing to narrowing the gap between education and employment.

As Da Nang accelerates investment attraction into high-tech sectors, green industries, logistics, and high-quality services, developing an effective labor market extends beyond job creation; it is an important factor in raising the city's competitive capacity.

Through an increasingly modern employment service system and workforce training programs tailored to corporate needs, Da Nang is steadily building a skilled workforce that meets development requirements in the new era. This forms a major foundation for the city to continue creating a favorable investment and business environment, partnering with enterprises, and attracting high-quality investment flows.
