ASEAN BAC Vietnam Launched
Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on July 6, 2006 in Hanoi launched the Vietnam ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC Vietnam) with three official members assigned by the Prime Minister.
The three members include Doan Duy Khuong, vice president of VCCI and president of ASEAN BAC Vietnam; Tran Bac Ha, general director of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and Vu Dinh Tan, general director of the Tan Hong Trade and Tourism Company.
Khuong, president of ASEAN BAC Vietnam, said that ASEAN BAC Vietnam would be responsible for collecting ideas of Vietnamese enterprises to submit to the Government and providing orientations of the Government on the development of the Vietnamese business community and increasing competitiveness of the community.
Tan said that from now to the end of 2006, ASEAN BAC Vietnam would organise the third quarter meeting in Ho Chi Minh City, join the annual meeting of ASEAN BAC in Singapore in August and attend the ASEAN BAC summit in the Philippines. Also, the organisation will hold other activities, such as seminars, input and comment gathering, website building and participation in meetings held by ASEAN BAC member countries. This will be an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to contribute their voice to the Government and to join the regional playing field.
