Vietnam Business Forum magazine under VCCI would like to introduce comments of golfers and people involving in the tournament:

Marie-Louise Thaning, Counsellor, Embassy of Sweden in Vietnam
I am looking forward to participating in this golf tournament and to have the opportunity to meet Vietnamese business people.  It is a very good opportunity for me to be able to discuss business opportunities both in and in . Hopefully we will find some new business opportunities.  I also hope to be able to meet some new friends. I think golf is such an excellent sport because you can combine both physical and social activities, and have fun at the same time.

I think it would be a good idea to form a female golf network of women entrepreneurs and other stakeholders interested in business issues. Men are good at supporting each  other, women need to learn this. Now I think it is about time to form a female golf network. We could then play golf, have fun and at the same time discuss business, support each other and share experiences. Why not a female golf tournament on International Women's Day March 8.

Mr. Shoji Wanatabe, Representative for Hanoi Office, Mitsui & Co., Ltd

VCCI daily activities are of great help to the foreign business people in Vietnam. In addition, a golf match is the best occasion to establish personal friendship between Vietnamese and foreign societies in view of the current trend of a rapid growth in quality and in number of the golfers in Vietnam. I do hope lots of people from various nations will gather at this golf tournament, while much appreciating to the organizer for this tournament.

Mr. Nguyen Canh Hong, General Director of Eurowindow - the tournament’s Diamond Sponsor
The golf tournament is a meaningful sport event which is not only a play ground for businessmen but also a bridge to strengthen close relations and business cooperation between enterprises. Eurowindow and Melinh Plaza are very proud of being the diamond sponsor for this event, partly contributing to the development of the emerging sport in Vietnam. Eurowindow believes that the success of the big game will be a strong foundation for the company to become the sport’s fellow in the next years.

Tran Dinh Luat, General Director of Long Bien Corporation
It is my great honour to be invited to participate in the first Vietnam Businessman Golf Tournament in October 2005 at Chi Linh Star Golf & Country Club and in the second tournament this year again on October 14, 2006 at Kings’ Island Golf. In my opinion, the sport event has a very enormous attraction to not only golfers in Vietnam but also other business people who are ready to sponsor their high-end products and services for the tournament with the aim of accessing to targeted customers.

Particularly, when having full information of the Vietnam Businessman Golf Tournament 2006, many golfers, especially young entrepreneurs, in the South of Vietnam has registered. I would like to suggest that VCCI should organize the next year tournament in the South to help southern golfers have chances to exchange views with players from the North. Though the tournament has been organized for second times only, golfers appreciated it and are ready to take part in thanks to the reputation of the organizers.

Arch. Bui Linh Giang, Deputy General Director, Cavico Vietnam
Golfing has been impressive to me recently, after seeing my old friend again and hearing his feeling about the sport. Like many other people, football and tennis are very familiar with me and since I paid attention to this game, I realized that it is interesting and really attractive to all players. It is wonderful when you stroll peacefully in a green, healthy space and beautiful landscapes, and especially have to decide each swing by yourself. Success or failure continuously happens and your time goes with golf balls, swings, hills and fairways.

The game is strongly developing in Vietnam today and it is a good signal for an environmentally-friendly community. The green environment in the future will certainly help Vietnam become an ideal destination for both local and foreign business people. In this field, Cavico Group has set up a plan to invest in a golf course project, partly contributing to the development of the community’s “green” future and sharpening the charm of the image, land and people of Vietnam.

Mr. Pham Quang Vinh
Managing Partner, Pham & Partners LLP (Vietnam)
Team Manager of Vietnam National Golf Team

For somebody who has to spend most of his time during the week at work, perhaps sharing quiet times, green space, the joy with a fantastic game like golf is very special. Of course it will be more special if you have chances to share your game with your colleague in the business community. In some senses, golf is very close with business when it demands from you self control and discipline to follow not only the complicated rules but also the “royal and ancient” etiquette of the game. In company with honesty, golf also demands from player quality of a businessman, it's not only cautious, discipline, but it also demands adventurous spirit. When your golf ball is landing in bunker, it's like a difficult business situation, a good swing demands good skills and you will also have to take risk.

As a person who always has a desire to contribute more to develop golf sport in Vietnam, I am truly happy when having a chance to join VCCI Cup for the 2nd time and seeing more Vietnamese enjoying their life with golf. I look forward to see the Vietnamese businessmen again at the Vietnam National Championship next year in Dalat.
