Vietnam’s apparel and footwear sectors are estimated to ship US$7.05 billion and US$3.53 billion in the past eleven months, up 32 per cent and 9.5 per cent on year, respectively, according to the General Statistics Office.

The two sectors' export values account for up to 25 per cent of the country's total abroad shipment earnings in the period, Investment newspaper reported.

The dramatic achievements are mainly thanks to the optimistic performance in apparel exports onto the U.S. market, which account for 60 per cent and footwear shipments to the EU market which rank second here, the source noted.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment said the increase helps to bring a big proportion in forex earning and to support tens of thousands Vietnamese workers. (GSO November Edition, Investment)
