Chinese Corp Builds US$18 Mln Golf Complex in Vietnam Highlands
The Chinese-based Actaem Corporation March 22 began construction on US$18 million golf course complex in Vietnam central highlands of Lam Dong province, the local Vietnam Economic Times reported Monday.
Covering over 750 hectares, the project will be home to a 36-hole golf course, 250 villas and hotels, cultural villages and other entertainment facilities.
After five years of operation, the complex will create 1,500 jobs and contribute VND20 billion (US$1.25 million) to the provincial budget, the investor group said without revealing the time to complete the construction.
Lam Dong, 308 km from Ho Chi Minh City, has great potentials for tourism development with a convenient climate, together with splendid landscapes and cultural resources.
The number of visitors to the province is estimated to reach 700,000-800,000 per year, including 10 per cent foreigners. Hotels and guest houses see a capacity of 20,000 visitors per day. (Vietnam Economic Times)
