Singapore Firm to Build US$102 Mln Tourism Complex in Central Vietnam

Cattigara One Limited of Singapore has received an investment license to build Bai Chuoi-Lang Co tourist complex in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue with the total capital of US$102 million, state media has said.
 
To covering an area of 100 hectares, the complex will include a luxurious resort, shopping centers, hotels, villas and other entertainment facilities
 
The project will be carried out in two phases with an investment capital of US$50 million in the first phase will be completed after 30 months.
 
The second phase will be conducted in three years at an investment of US$52 million.
 
The company is expected to break ground for the construction in the first quarter of this year, the company’s general director Lim Kam Lo said, adding that the resort will be developed in a style similar to resorts in the tourist island of Bali in Indonesia.
 
Located some 70 km from the provincial capital Hue, the Chan May-Lang Co EZ was established in January last year. The 27,000-hectare zone covers over 27,000 hectares encompassing Lang Co township and three other surrounding villages, which will be developed into a regional economic and trade center.
 
The zone has become an attractive destination for foreign investors in recent times, particularly those operating in tourism sector. It has so far attracted 61 projects, including 23 in tourism. (Vietnam & World Economy)
