Vietnam Targets to Disburse US$11.5 Bln FDI This Year: Official
Vietnam has set a target of disbursing at least US$11.5 billion of FDI this year, the same to last year, according to a senior official of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
“This year Vietnam targets to receive US$11.5 billion FDI disbursements, equaling to 2008’s figure,” Phan Huu Thang, head of the MPI’s Foreign Investment Department was quoted as noting on January 9.
Last year, Vietnam licensed a record registered FDI of US$64.11 billion projects and received US$11.5 billion. The industrial and construction sector saw 572 projects with a total registered capital of US$32.62 billion.
FDI firms contributed US$1.982 billion to the state budget, up 25.8 per cent on year and employed 200,000 local workers. (Vietnam Financial Times)
