Int’l Tourist Arrivals to Vietnam Biggest City Down 10 per cent in Jan-February
HCM City, the biggest city of Vietnam welcomed 520,000 foreign arrivals in the first two months of this year, down 10 per cent on-year, state media has said.
The figure made up 17.5 per cent of the year’s target of three million, the Tourism Division under HCM City’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said.
In February, the city welcomed more than 260,000 foreign arrivals in February, down 5 per cent on-year. Of them, 200,000 came by air, 5,000 by waterways and 60,000 overland.
Main markets were the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, China, France, Singapore, Malaysia and Canada.
The city, however, reported increase in revenues in the period, the division revealed without saying the exact revenues during the two-month span. (VNBusinessNews)
