Vietnam Airlines, BIDV to Hold 2009 Sea Tourism 2009 in France
Vietnam Airlines and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) will co-chair the 2009 Vietnam Sea Festival in France on April 28-29.
The festival, the first of its kind in France, aims to promote Vietnam’s tourism potentials and realize the government’s goal to maintain economic growth, stimulate demand, and boost consumption and service exports.
The Vietnamese attendants include twenty-five tourism management agencies from sea tourism-rich provinces and cities, such as Khanh Hoa and Danang, and local leading hotels, travel and coastal resort businesses.
Officials of the France Chamber of Commerce and Industry and hundreds of investors and travel agencies from France and other European countries are expected to take part in the event.
The festival, with a series of performances, exhibitions and handicraft product displays, will help local visitors better understand Vietnam’s traditional culture, land and people.
This is a golden chance for Vietnamese firms to seek European partners, and particularly for BIDV to cooperate with the leading financial institutions of France and Europe, said Vietnam Airlines General Director Pham Ngoc Minh.
Within the event, BIDV will organize a seminar to call on investors in tourism projects in Vietnam.
Vietnam has set target of welcoming five million foreign and 21.5 million local tourists this year despite negative impacts of the global economic slowdown. (Vietnam & World Economy)
