Italian investment into Vietnam is expected to rise 10% from the current $200 million this year, said Damiano Francovigh, First Secretary of the Italian Embassy and Head of the Economic and Commercial Section.
Francovigh said that Italian firms have invested nearly $200 million in Vietnam so far, adding that motorbike and textile sectors are accounting for majority of the total figure.
He also said that a number of Italian businesses will arrive in Vietnam soon because this country’s investment environment is favorable.
Many famous Italian companies including Piaggio, Ariston and Carvico have strong footnotes in Vietnam, Icham Chairman Tomaso Andreatta said.
