VCCI will issue Information and data bank on CDs for Enterprises

To help Vietnamese businesses in the process of economic integration, the Institute of Information Technology for Business (ITB) under VCCI is developing the Information and data bank on CDs, expected to be marketed in September 2005.       

With the support of government ministries and agencies and related experts, the Information and data bank on CDs with some 40,000 pages providing essential information on international economic integration will be issued and have seven main parts: Overview on integration, Vietnam and international economic integration, business preparation, Vietnam and international trade laws, integration and intellectual property, market files, IT and integration.      

Overview on integration provides general and fundamental knowledge on the international economic integration (objectives, impacts and main economic blocs). It also refers to difficulties and advantages, measures and solutions, as well as the view of the Party and State on reforming and developing policy compatible with integration conditions.   

Vietnam and international economic integration presents general information on the process of economic integration, helping businesses to develop their strategies to be compatible with Vietnamese and international conditions. It also introduces some related regional and world organisations.     

 Business preparation highlights measures to be taken such as: management methods, business planning, trademark development, competition, and quality criteria.     

Vietnamese and international trade laws explain the legal environment including regulations on business establishment, operation and termination of operations, problems in trade activities and related international conventions.       

Integration and intellectual property have not been considered seriously in Vietnam causing certain difficulties and losses. This section shows the importance in business activities and regulations of Vietnamese law on the protection of, and the registration and role of, intellectual property.  

Market files gives main information on the land and people of each market: the US, EU, Japan, China, Africa and ASEAN, together with information on socio-economic conditions, import-export statistics, specific industries, cultural and business practice, and trade relations with Vietnam.     

IT and integration highlights the role of IT in the knowledge-based economy and the current international economic integration.
