In October 2004, the Vietnamese Government and governments of 9 African nations initialled a cooperation agreement to set up the Vietnam-Africa Business Forum to enhance trade ties and investments between Vietnam and African nations, including Egypt, Algeria, Angola, Benin, Libya, Morocco, South Africa, Senegal and Tanzania. After witnessing enthusiastic activities, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has planned to launch a business gateway on the website http://www.vinafrica.com in September 2005.
The website is an online information exchange channel for enterprises of the two sides to introduce information about nations, people, economic and tourism potentialities, import export situations, market information, legal concerns, business opportunities and business directories. The website, in both Vietnamese and English, will provide rooms for enterprises to introduce themselves and their products, and seek new business opportunities. Enterprises can also carry out transactions online.
Until now, the Vietnam-Africa business gateway has gathered, categorised and worked out a large volume of information related to land, people, socio-economic situation of and nine African countries. In particular, VCCI has completed the registration process for building online showrooms for enterprises.
