In the first half of 2005, VCCI has successfully achieved the plan of action set by the Board of Management and the Standing Committee. VCCI has grown stably, and has expanded and improved in quality.
VCCI has received and sent abroad 562 business delegations, in particular those accompanying Vietnamese leaders visiting foreign countries. The business missions were well organised and fruitful, promoting investment and expanding markets.
Concerning trade and investment promotion, VCCI has organised 93 conferences, seminars and round tables for business match-making with such markets as , , and . In particular, business forums and business councils have been developed with and
VCCI has conducted market surveys, conducted research on business management and competition, and developed databases to promote business activities. The Chamber has also advised the Party and State on economic issues with 45 conferences and seminars discussing laws and policies especially Commercial Law (amended), Unified Corporate Law, and Common Investment Law. Over 500 VCCI members have contributed their views through the website http://vibonline.com.vn .
VCCI has admitted 547 new members, issued 191,846 certificates of origin (50 per cent of the total number in ), organised four exhibition fairs in and participated in 22 trade fairs abroad, sponsored 465 training courses and provided necessary information and consulting to businesses.
For the second half of 2005, VCCI will focus on intensive trade promotion and contribution to the development of market mechanisms in preparation for WTO admission and international economic integration. In addition, it will award 10 exemplary employers, organise national seminars on business culture, and hold sporting events such as a golf cup and tennis tournament.
