Vietnam, Taiwan Ink Garment Cooperation Deal

The Vietnam Textile and Garment Association (VITAS) and Taiwan Garment Confederation have signed an agreement to cooperate in garment sector.
Under the agreement, two sides will boost ties in producing and trading garment. Especially, Taiwan will help Vietnam strengthen capability of fashion design.
Addressing the signing ceremony, chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Vu Tien Loc said that garment is the second largest export sector in Vietnam, which has high growth over last five years. The development of the sector has great contribution of foreign invested enterprises, including Taiwanese firms.
 
Vietnam has become one of its main partners in last five years with main exports of textiles and clothes, said Justin Huang, general secretary of the Taiwan Garment Confederation. Exports are mainly textiles and clothes.
 
VITAS chairman Le Quoc An said the agreement, along with the close cooperation, Vietnam expected to attract more investment from Taiwan into garment, fashion design, establishment of trademark and distribution network in the world.
