Amid steadily rising recruitment demand from businesses, Phu Tho Province is stepping up efforts to connect labor supply with demand through modern approaches that combine in-person services with digital platforms. These efforts are helping create jobs, meet businesses’ workforce needs and support socio-economic development.

According to the Phu Tho Department of Home Affairs, in the first six months of 2026, the province created 36,759 jobs, reaching 71.5% of its annual target and up 0.46% from the same period in 2025. Of this total, 2,966 workers were sent abroad under fixed-term employment contracts, an increase of 30.1% year on year.

To improve labor market connections, the province has diversified job counseling and placement services while expanding the use of information technology in recruitment. In the first six months, 34,185 workers received job counseling and placement services. The Phu Tho Employment Portal recorded nearly 9.7 million visits, with nearly 2,000 business and worker accounts registered on the portal. Through the portal and other labor supply-and-demand matching activities, 6,811 workers were successfully recruited.

Alongside online channels, the province continues to organize regular, mobile and online job fairs to connect businesses directly with workers. In the first six months, four job fairs were held with 42 participating businesses, attracting 1,458 workers for counseling and 1,218 workers for job interviews.

Career counseling has also expanded in schools and localities. The 2026 Career Guidance, Admissions Counseling and Labor Supply-Demand Connection Conference attracted more than 1,600 students. Following interviews, 337 people met recruitment requirements, while hundreds received counseling on domestic and overseas employment opportunities.

Alongside recruitment, Phu Tho is strengthening cooperation among government agencies, vocational schools and businesses to train workers based on actual workforce needs. In May 2026, the Department of Home Affairs worked with 13 businesses with high recruitment demand and six universities and colleges to develop mechanisms for coordinating workforce training and labor supply.

Preferential credit programs continue to support job creation. In the first six months, 11,736 workers received more than VND1.102 trillion in loans to develop production and businesses or work abroad under fixed-term employment contracts.

Phu Tho aims to create 51,400 jobs in 2026. To achieve this target, the province will continue to improve labor market forecasting, support businesses with recruitment, train workers based on actual demand and operate the Phu Tho Employment Portal effectively. These efforts will help build a more transparent, flexible and sustainable labor market.
